Conditions of Business – Primary Books Terms and Conditions of Business:

General

Primary Books is a trading name for Primary Books (North Chilterns), trading terms operate under the name of Primary Books.

Primary Books is prepared to supply the customer with books and goods on the basis of its terms and conditions as set out below.

Prices and Discounts

If you are a new customer, please contact Customer Care for details of our standard levels of discounts and to open an account.

We try to ensure book prices are current at the time of supply, however we regret that some price increases may occur. All books will be invoiced at current prices. In the event that an item is eligible to be charged VAT, the price will be shown inclusive of VAT, although will not be identified as such on the site. All VAT will be shown separately on the invoice.

Orders and Delivery

Orders can be placed via our website, post, Fax or Email 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you require specific titles that cannot be found on our database please contact Customer Care. We try to feature titles that are currently in print, however please accept that titles can go out of print and become unavailable without prior warning. Any title not immediately available for despatch is automatically held on backorder for 6 months unless otherwise advised in print.

Deliveries will be made Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am to 4.00pm. Delivery charges are dependent on weight and location, ranging from Free to £7 Please contact Customer Care to discuss on an individual basis.

International Orders

Overseas Customers should request a shipping quote prior to completing their order. Shipping costs will be levied for all shipments made outside of mainland UK.

Full Payment will be required in advance of shipping

Payment

Payment for goods must be made within 30 days of invoice date. Thereafter we reserve the right to charge interest on payments due accruing on a daily basis at the rate of 4% per annum over the Barclays Bank Plc base rate until payment is received in full from the Customer. Please send payment to our Accounts Department at Primary Books. Our bank details are:

Customers without a credit account may be required to make payment on a pro forma basis. International Customers should contact our Customer Care Department for full details of terms of supply.

VAT Registration Numbers

Primary Books North Chilterns is registered for VAT purposes. This registration number is clearly noted on invoices issued where applicable.

Returns

All books are supplied to the customer on a firm sale basis only. Returns will be allowed if a book is damaged or faulty, or incorrectly supplied against your order. This should be reported within 5 days and returned within a further 5 days clearly stating the damage. For damaged and faulty items Primary Books will replace the books where possible, but if it is no longer available, a credit note will be supplied.
